About the Event
This is a guided meditation class where Sarah will use sound as an aid to help you to deeply relax and restore your energy levels. Sound healing is the use of sound vibrations for a therapeutic benefit.
A group sound healing with meditation allows you to completely nurture your self, whist in the company of others you will have your own unique experience. The guided meditation is a visualisation tool to help you to relax, this is fully supported by the abundance of sound from healing instruments such as Crystal Bowls, Chimes, Shamanic Drumming, Tuning Folks and a small amount of Tibetan Gong. Each element of the time shared with sound will direct its self to meet your own personal needs, a totally unique and a deeply healing experience just for you.
Sound healing is a natural way to bring relaxation to the body, using various tones and notes this therapy aligns brainwaves into a frequency that allows your body to enter into a state of calm.
The sound vibrations are made by using healing instruments that each individually produce pure sounds, each reacting in a positive way with your body bringing your body and mind into balance. The human body is made of about 70% of water, every cell in our body responds to sound, if you imagine throwing a pebble into a lake and watching the ripples move through the water, this is the affect the vibrations of sound will have on the inside of your body, It has been described by others as a cleansing inner massage.
In times of stress and exhaustion, sound meditations can help your body to ease physical pain and they invite your body to enter into a deep relaxation, offering your body to take the time to restore and rejuvenate. This therapeutic experience supports symptoms of insomnia, digestive problems, headaches, releasing toxins and blockages from the body, regulating blood pressure, negative behaviors and rebalances chakras.
Each class will consist of us arriving and settling into a relaxed position of either sitting or lying down, a sound meditation and time to relax afterward with a glass of water or a herbal tea, helping to ground and prepare you for leaving.
Classes are held at Escape @ Wood Clinic, 22 Imperial Square in the centre of Cheltenham which is very close to the Town Hall. There is road parking outside the building which is free after 6pm and the nearest public car park is Rodney Road.
Classes are limited to 10 people only so booking your sacred space is essential.
Please pay the deposit of £7.00 upon booking on the events page and bring the remaining balance of £5.00 in cash with you on the day, along with a blanket and a pillow. Yoga mats and meditation cushions are provided and we have a selection of day beds, and a comfortable slouch chair if this is more comfortable for you than lying down.
